Jerry Seevers came to Waxahachie and opened his shop, the Elm Street Barbershop,
in 2005. He established
himself at the south Elm Street location, then the Rogers Hotel, and now at the
Firehouse Barber Shop. But Jerry was not always a barber.
Prior to becoming a barber, Jerry spent 25 years in
management of surface transportation in the areas of rail, piggyback, general
commodity trucking, heavy haul and container movement. He held positions in
sales, operations and management from bottom to the top.
If that wasn't enough, prior to moving into surface
transportation, Jerry spent several years in the air as an Army helicopter
pilot. He served in the Asia, Europe and the continental US on active duty, in
the National Guard and the Army Reserve.
He and his wife, Linda, have 3 children and 4
grandchildren, 2 dogs and 3 grand dogs. They all live in the greater D/FW area.
Jerry also serves as a canine handler and instructor for Metro Area Response K-9
an all volunteer, professionally trained search and rescue team.
